The coin show is here! Doors open at 3:00 for the public on Friday, March 22, and then 9:00 am on Saturday and Sunday March 23-24. Location is at the McKee Building at the Ranch at the Larimer County Fairgrounds just off the I-25 at Loveland.
The next coin club meeting is at 6:00 pm on April 5 at the Fort Collins Senior Center, 1200 Raintree DR, Fort Collins. This is very close to our old location – take Drake to Shields, go north, and then West on Raintree. The doors open at 6:00 for coin talk, refreshments and donuts, business meeting at 6:30, followed by the auction.
Minutes of the 3/1/19 meeting:36 Members in attendance, with 1 new member joining – welcome to Katie C! The $20 prize was not won – sorry Theo! So it goes to $25 next time. The silver was won by Dave S.
President Dan Y. requested show help for the March show to sell raffle tickets and to be a club greeter. Dan also reported on the upcoming elections at the ANA, and also on a reception to open a new exhibit at the headquarters in Colorado Springs.
VP Ken S. has secured the Senior Center not only for the rest of 2019, but 2020 as well. Remember that there is no meeting in July, but I might have heard that Ken was inviting everyone over to his house for steaks – well, maybe I did not get that one right! A little Secretary humor – no steak grilling from Ken, but he sure brings good donuts to our meetings!
Treasurer Carl D. gave his report – details are in the minute book. Carl also proved to me via a wooden nickel that our 48th show was held on March 22, 2003, and he claims that he had a table at the first one 48 years before that (well, I exaggerate a little).
